Тефлоновая пленка (или тефлоновая ткань, стеклоткань и т.п.) используется в качестве антипригарного покрытия на сварочных станках, предназначенных для склейки ПВХ профиля. В зависимости от конструкции нагревательного элемента (паяльника), тефлон применяется обычный (безклеевой) или самоклеющийся. Обычная пленка крепится на утюг при помощи различных самозажимных механизмов. На всех наиболее популярных моделях сварочных станков применяется именно такой тип пленки. Самоклеющаяся тефлоновая лента применяется реже, она просто наклеивается на нагреватель.
